So, having "only" power windows, locks and mirrors, plus a sliding rear
window qualifies as "pretty bare"?
Wow, you might have gizmo shock if you ever sat in my '95. I don't think
there's a single option on the truck. The windows work by cranks, the locks
by hand only, and there are these little cable-operated sticks for the
mirrors (the right one doesn't work, I had to cram a piece of rubber between
the glass and housing to get it pointed the right direction).
No air conditioning (unless you count the side windows -- solid rear
window). I shift gears myself. No ABS, and the "overhead" is the CB that I
installed. No limited slip, no chrome anywhere, no cruise, no tilt
steering, etc.
The sick thing is that on many levels, I *LIKE* it this way. Sort of my
vote against the luxury SUV crowd.
Although it does have an in-dash Sony CD player that the previous owner
installed. Guess it isn't too primitive :-).
An interesting thing is that being a V6 with no A/C and the water-ingesting
air intake snorkel removed, there's almost enough room in the engine
compartment to climb in, close the hood and take a nap. Getting back out
might pose a problem, though :-).
