Re: Subwoofer and Amp Q's

There IS one thing to look you for. Even a stereo shop can't make a box too
narrow if the mounting depth of the sub is about 6 inches deep. Just ask a
shop how much depth you can get to have it not interfere with your seat's
ability to slide back and forward. I REALLY recommend Image Dynamic subs.
I have 2 in the MTX thunderform and it sounds good and handles power better
than the new MTX blue thunder extreme subs.
The Image Dynamic's frequency range is up to 250 hz which i don't even use a
cross over on mine. Image dynamic subs also sound great. I've owned a fair
share of subs: pioneer premier ALCC 12", RF series 1 subs (sucked. my single
Image dynamic 10" sub out hit 2 RF 10"s) mtx thunder 5000s, mtx blue thunder
extremes.

Also, how much are you going to buy that Rockford Fosgate amp for? I have a
basically new MTX 2150x. It retails for about 450, and i bought it since
6/20/99. I'll sell it to you for 200 dollars shipped. It comes with the
"spec sheet", still packaged MTX t-shirt, and a "steal me" MTX serious about
sound sticker. The RMS power rating for the MTX is 425 watts bridged at 4
ohms. i don't know what it could do at 2 ohms, but you can buy an 8 ohm sub
and bridge it at the amp for a final 4 ohm mono load on the amp.

PS. If anyone wants to buy some audio equipment. Drop me a line. I know of
a distributor that will give me killer deals on car stereo stuff..

<< hey....not too sure about the box and all that...but if anything...you can
definitely have a box made by a stereo shop that'll fit...dimensions don't
matter as much as airspace...anything can be done pretty much...if you have
the money they'll make it fit...order a crutchfield catalog and check out the
MTX thunderforms and the Q-logic boxes...they make them so it hardly even
looks like there's a speaker...looks like OEM equipment...not sure how the
dakota ones are...but they have ones that use the jack storage space..some
are under the seat...all depends....and that amp will definitely be
enough...although, i like rockford...but go to Carmedia1 and check out the stuff
there...REAL cheap..they don't sell rockford, but tons of other great
companies, JL audio, Crossfire(my favorite amps), Phoenix Gold, Soundstream
(my favorite subs), Image Dynamics(i think)...lots of high end stuff...dirty
cheap...most stuff is like $100 cheaper than you'd find ANYWHERE
else...anyways...that's all i have to say...good luck..any other
question....shoot...cya later
