Sorry to say but that is a TRUE statement. Edelbrock DID run a test on a
small-block Chevy 6 years ago which was basically a stock engine with all
the factory emissions trimmings. They had replaced the Intake manifold,
installed their headers, Cam & Lifter Kit (Power Package) and ran it on the
sniffer. It came up CLEANER than the factory engine.
Because of that test, the C.A.R.B. approvals all of a sudden started
appearing a lot more.
As for Warren Johnson's Pro-Stocker passing the Sniffer test, I still know
several people who WILL pass it (one at the BAR Inspection Area)...and he
doesn't even have to bring it in.
