I also have a 1990, and when I first bought it, I had the same problem the
first time I touched the pedal in the morning it would come close to
stalleing, but run perfect all day long. i don't know if it was a placebo
effect or coincidence or just a plain fix, but I added some slick 50 gas
treatment and it seemed to go away... So maybe that is your answer too..
