He's absolutely right. I have a 97 (hey! you left the 97 dakotas out!!!)
dakota v6 and bought the first generation K&N fipk kit. All it was is a 14"
air cleaner assembly with a s-bolt and K&N filter. Charged me 119 bucks and
went home and it didn't fit. Brought it back and got the "correct one"
still 14" and again. They had to take it back and give me my money back.
10" air cleaner is the way to go.
