OBDII Scan Software

If anyone saw this weekend's "Shadetree Mechanic" program they featured
OBDII scan software that allows a standard Windows laptop to talk to the
OBDII computer.

The web site is http://www.baumtools.com. They have a downloadable demo
(don't know how usefull it would be without the cable.)

The software costs $498.00. What do you all think? Is it worth it?
