Just because you can't physically see through it doesn't mean that it flows
less. The old Glasspacks (Cherry Bomb) are the most restrictive (next to
Midas and Sears) and you can see through them.
You need some sort of "scavenging" effect for the exhaust system...you don't
need that for the TB. And as for the TB porting, you don't port it too
large either...just like putting a 3" muffler/pipe on the truck...you LOOSE
power.
It may seem strange, but most of the aftermarket mufflers will flow BETTER
than a straight through pipe. Why? Scavenging and backpressure. You need
both on a vehicle to some extent.

Wudda ya mean, "got proof?" the flowmaster is a baffle design. So.. air is
happier flowing thru a bunch of obstructions, rather than a straight smooth
tube? (well, maybe not smooth in most cases) WHY did you port your
throttle
body then?

<< Flowmasters don't flow well as other "straight flow thru" mufflers on the
market, but they're the loudest. Using it over a OE muffler will
definantly
free up some horse power for you. I had the 40 series and they were
ANNOYING. too much cab rattle and very loud around 1700-2200 RPMS when you
give it gas and it doesn't upshift.
