Getting heat out of the bay

Removing heat out of the engine bay is definitely not real easy. Maybe we
could persuade someone into fabricating a hood with some mesh vents that
would draw heat out of the bay. I've seen them before, basically holes cut
through the top of the hood (maybe 2" by 6") and the opening covered with
fine mesh. As you drive along, the air running over the hood draws out the
hot air.
Getting cool air in, that's not too difficult. Now with that ram-air style
hood that i posted it would be done, except the only worry i'd have is
excess mud and water getting in there too. A little water isn't so bad but
when i dive into a shallow river there gonna be more than a little water
gettin thrown in through the hood scoop. I'm not sure how bad this would
be, but would like to hear opinions from guys with lots of 4x4 experience
and what they have done to eliminate this concern.
Anyways just some random thoughts while i'm on my lunch break,

Frank WJ
