I just finished the installation of a Hayden 16" fan. Works very well. I took
it a step farther and installed not only the adjustable thermostat-relay kit,
but also a DPDT three-position switch and wired it for manual/off/auto. In
addition, I installed an indicator lamp that's connected to the secondary
side of the relay and comes on whenever the fan has power to it. (It's fun to
watch it go off and on.) In the auto position the fan will come on when the
temperature sensor hits 190-195 or when the A/C is switched on. In the manual
position, it's on as long as I want it. This way, I have control over the
system if, for instance, the temperature probe opens and it won't come on or
if it shorts and it won't shut off. Or if I'm going 80mph with the A/C on, I
don't really need the fan at that speed. Anyway, I have a new toy to play
with. Thanks again, Bernd, for your help with the installation.
