Well, after a week of driving with the new tires & lowering, all I can say
is: WOW! The truck handles SO much better now! I used Western Chassis 1"
front coils, which dropped my 99 CC 1 1/2", just like I wanted. Out back I
used Ground Force 2" blocks, cause they're angled & cast iron( had a set of
Belltech aluminums crack in just 2 months). Retained all 4 factory shocks,
just trimmed 2" off the lower A arm bump stops. Put Dunlop GT Qualifiers on(
255/60 front & 275/60 rear). The truck now has the same look as an R/T, and I
keep my full suspension travel! Took a turnpike on-ramp at 60 with NO body
lean or tire squeal! Who needs Hotchkis mega-$$ set-ups? My total cost
including tires, coils, blocks, shipping, and labor was $675! That's a LOT
less than what I've seen the Hotchkis kits alone going for. I had an R/T
owner ask me if the Sport+(my truck) came with the R/T suspension option! We
parked next to each other, and our trucks looked identical( except for his
17"ers). I'd recommend this route to anyone considering dropping your truck,
as the look is killer and the ride remains the same!
