With a #5,500 trailer I'd agree, but my 2WD with the LSD has yet to have a
problem with traction on the ramps with a #1,500 load. I don't think I've
even spun a wheel yet so the LSD hasn't even kicked in. Since I have the 3.92
in the rear, it's low enough for all around work. If I had to tow close to 6K
lbs, I'd seriously consider a 4.10, but that has plusses and minuses...
Personally, I don't think my Dak would have a problem with the 6K load pulling
out of the water due to the LSD. 4WD only adds another wheel to the drive
system, 3 as compared to 2, but I couldn't afford the 4x4 or the insurance on
it anyway... I'll have to leave that to you rich Daksters.
I watched a Ford Aerostar nearly melt a tire pulling a micro-jet boat out
of the water. I was amused (except for the rubber he threw around) and yanked
the Waverunners out (right next to him) really quick without even spinning a
wheel. It didn't make that Aerostar dude happy. I wanted to yell, "Get a
real vehicle for towing!" but I let the results speak for themselves.

That's where the 4x4 comes in real handy. Lock into PT-4 LO, and you
can yank the boat up the ramp with 3.55 or 3.92 gears.. HE HE...
