High pressure OR low pressure in the system will cause the compressor to
cycle on and off. It is a normal condition if it cycles every 2 or so
minutes. If it cycles more often than that, it is either low on freon (low
pressure) or there is another problem. Sounds like you need to get it checked
by a qualified technician.
