Bernd,

I forget what the TSB # was, but I had the knock repaired under warranty. All
they did was replace the lower steering column/coupling and I haven't had a
problem since. From my dealerships invoice this is what they replaced:

    P# Desc.
55351171-AB - Coupling 19 15 4
6504926-AA - Screw Hex 19 14 5
6101510 - Nut Flang 19 15 5

I have a '98 4x4 and, if memory serves, you have a '97 4x2 so things might be
different...
