Towing with a 4x4 questions:

Heading from San Diego to San Jose tomorrow towing a 1500# empty
car trailer, and 2 jetskis in the bed with my wife's 4x4 CC.

I've spent the better part of the evening running around getting
last minute things (7 plug to 6 plug converter, etc.) and have
the electronic brake controller installed now.

So far I've gotten a whopping 10.0 mpg!!! With about 10 miles of
30 on the fwy. This has me concerned. Once I drive 500 miles
to San Jose empty (with 2 skis in the bed), I will then pickup
a '72 Dodge Dart (318-- ARGH ARGH!!), which weighs about 3000-3100#.

I can't even imagine how sorry a gas mileage I will be getting
on the return, not to mention the 13 mile Grapevine climb!!! (6-7%).

Anyone ever done this?? Oh yeah, OD with 31" tires and 3.55 gears is
a waste of time. D is only about 200 rpm higher than what the RT runs
in OD w/3.92 gears, so 65-70 should be the norm in D.
