I've used Syntec for the last 20,000 miles and I occasional hear the
clicking noise after a cold start. The noise goes away after about 2-3 sec,
so I really don't worry about it.

Tibor, Hydrolic lifters will sometimes loose their
preload and tick for a few seconds on startup. I run
Mobil1 10W30 and I have 1 Mopar rocker that will tick
for a couple of seconds on a cold start. It should go
away after warmup tho. I think Mobil1 is so thin it
really does make things rattle in the engine. I may
have to try Castrol Syntec just to see how it performs.
I really don't see how a good namebrand synthetic oil
could void our warranty. Just my .02
