Yes the Daks have had cv axles since the beginning. The initial queston was
in regard to steering/suspension, it was just stated wrong. Anyways, the
4x4's have always had a gear box for steering, while the 2wd's had rack and
pinion steering. Now the 00 4x4's have R&P for a tighter turning radius.
Now it may have coil springs because of this, I know the 2wd's have them.
Lemme get the Dak brochure:
OK

all models have R&P steering
4x4 suspension:
front upper and lower A arms (both 4x2 & 4x4), torsion bars, shocks..of
course, and stabilizer bar..of course. Nope no coils for the 4x4. Id rather
have torsion bars anyway!
reg cab models have a 36' turning radius

other stuff:
24 gallon tank option on CC SLT (dont know if this is new for 00) standard on
the QC
looks like th 46RE is still available but only with the 5.9, hence QC and R/T
the 44RE is standard for the 6er
45RE (multispeed auto) is only put behind the 4.7
there is a passenger on/off switch for the air bags.
thats all I could find.
