Welcome to the list, Jeff.
The K&N Gen II is the new cone type air system. It consists of a
new air hat, air hose connector apparatus, cone filter and an 'enclosure'
where the stock air box is. This enclosure is meant to seal most of
the engine's hot air from the filter. K&N advertises a healthy HP
claim for the Gen II but I haven't seen any ET figures which would
support such claims. Pretty expensive as well.
