I'm afraid I don't know what the deal with your battery is
(gotta be a connection?), but about the steering-take it back
and tell them to straighten it. I had that problem with mine-
at 1 yr the steering rack had to be replaced (?? go figure),
and the steering wheel wasn't straight after that. Drove me
crazy! (got spanked by a !!! sedan thing too because I needed
both hands to steer a curve and couldn't shift when I needed to)
I took it back and told them to fix it. It's been fine since.
