I'm wondering if the EASE diag. program that you have gives you ignition
timing or A/F readouts. Of course, you'd have to know what these readouts
would be with a stock computer.

This may just unique to my '97 Dak and '96 MP PCM but one way I know
the '96 PCM is in (besides no gauges) is when I do a start after an
overnight sit and I let it idle just a bit after startup (maybe a minute
or two) and then turn it off, I'll experience run on.

I don't think it would hurt to go the dealer and ask the service manager
to check with the mechanic to see if the mechanic did any computer adjustment
or flash up as part of the valve replacement procedure. I saw a recent post
that the owner had his '97 stock computer reflashed but no one has been
informed
that such a computer upgrade existed. Just say it feels a bit sluggish.

Hoping something helps here.
