Just take the K&N Cleaning kit with you and you'll be fine. (Clean it in a
stream if you have to.)
The last time I got my filter REALLY dirty was in Lassen County (CA) on the
fire roads (Red Clay Dirt). After each day, I just cleaned it and let it
dry overnight. (It paid for itself on that trip.)

Subject: DML: going hunting, k&n problem???
I'm going hunting this week-end and I was just a
little bit worried about my k&n filter. I'm going to
ride into a lot of unpaved road this week-end, and
some say that it is better to prevent dust going into
the air filter because of its massive exposure to dirt
and dust.
