17 degrees BTDC (Before Top dead Center) sounds a little high...
What was it at idle and 2500rpm? (Or did he check?) normally, you really
don't want more than 32-38 degrees total advance and no more than 8-12
initial. (Although some engines actually use 14 BTDC at idle.)
You are taking to the dealer to check it out right? If so, let me know
what they do.
