The engines of today are built with better (cleaner) tolerances than before
(Pre 80's). The average "Break-In" is about 1500 - 2500 miles. You should
be fine with the synthetic.

Subject: DML: Is it OK to change to synthetic after only 5,000 miles?

I was thinking about changing over to synethic oil this weekend. (Mobil 1-
5W30)

My truck is just at 5,000 miles. I know there is a specific breakin period
in which you have to run dyno-oil.

Am I ok to change to full synthetic now? Or should I wait until the next
oil
change? I would rather be safe than sorry.
