An easy way to distinquish between an 8.25 and a 9.25 is the 8.25 is oval
and the 9.25 is octagon shaped...like a stop sign.

My 98 SC 5.2l 5 Speed 4x4 has a 9.25...and is one of the reasons I choose
the Dakota.
