>>>I have a kenwood cd head and kenwood hq series in the stock locations (reg cab). I must say, I had more bass and volume out of
my stock units! My wife has a 97 ram with the Infinity and I think it sounds great! It has bass and hi's. Mine has tons of hi's but no bass!!!! why
is this? <<<

because the aftermarket speakers are designed to be able to handle more output from an outboard amp, whereas the factory speakers are designed to work best with the power levels they receive from the factory head unit, which is usually around 10 watts. Your Kenwood may put out 30 watts, but at what volume? The speakers are designed to be able to handle 50 watts constant, and your average head unit only puts out about 15 watts constant, so you get less lows because lows take more power to produce. Hope that made sense (I don't think it did.. hehehe)
