Hey guys, I know I told you all about my Blown '97 munching a valve, therfor
requiring me to put the truck back to stock ... besides, it's time for
something new. (maybe a new 4.7L ??? 'I'd love to start making high perf
parts for this engine if feasbile!... or maybe an older Dak w/ a 360 and a
5spd ... .)
Any suggestions or trucks in the FL area????
This came out of my '97 Ram 1500 .
High perf electronic OD tranny w/ fairbanks 2400 stall..
This is a jewel of a transmission. Rebuilt not but 2 months ago (less than
5,000 miles) w/ high performance Torqueflite parts (HD Clutches, several
small internal mods) to handle the added torque from the blower .... it also
has a TransGo shift kit w/ rear servo parts professionally installed for nice
firm durable shifts. Manual valve body, full control over the transmission in
1-2-3, but when in D it shifts like a normal automatic.
This transmission is ideal for someone with some extra horsepower. My OE
tranmission went south quick once I stated cranking out some extra ponies. :-)
Also purchased at the same time, a Fairbanks 2400 stall converter. This is
also a top of the line converter , digitally balanced , kevlar lining , this
is not a cheap converter at all! Dropped 1/4 mile tipes 4-5 tenths in my
combo. Transmission price was in the $2500 range, converter was $500 w/o core
exchange if my memory serves me correctly.
I'll sell everything w/ the transmission cooler for $1800 firm, shipping
insured UPS Ground. I gaurantee that this transmission is fresh, and was
never really even abused. Had no dragstrip time. Didn't have any time to...
once the converter was installed, I broke a valvespring which put the truck
down for a week, then it drove for a week and a ignition problem had every
shop/dealership in Bradenton/Sarasota/Venice stumped for 2 weeks, then drove
it for another week or so and poof.. no more motor :(
I will however need a transmission to take it's place - so I could sell this
on exchange for less $$$ initially ... just trying to help out a fellow list
member , my dad's going to buy the truck from me and he has no reason for it
behind a stock motor and all.
