If you aren't having any problems with the heat shields, leave 'em in. I
removed mine because I was getting spark leak (with my Jacobs 8.5mm wires)
around the shields. I'm running the Jacobs Energy Team ignition and stock
factory manifolds. I'm now running Magnecor wires and I feel like they will
handle any extra heat that the shields might prevent, especially since I
rarely get the engine hot (don't race it too much).
