Auto or stick, and what rear end? If it's an auto, have you tried w/
overdrive off? I've noticed my truck ('99 318 Sport 4x4 CC, 3.55 axle)
doesn't accelerate like a rocket in OD - but I don't expect it to, as
that's more of a cruising gear ratio, if I'm not mistaken.

Usually when getting on the highway for my daily commute, I keep the OD
off until I'm on the road and in the clear. I come off the onramp about
50 mph and if it's in OD, accelerating to get my position in traffic is
prety tough.
