here is my $0.02
I just lowered my 88 (yes you read that right, it's an 88) with Western Chassis components and I love it. I've had a few lowering related problems like pinion angle and draggin' my tailpipe across some large curbs, but other than that I'm happy. I catch a lot of shit from people about it being low. Shit like people not wanting to work on it, and I get singled out in traffic by cops and followed. But, I also get compliments, and people with lowerd trucks are generally much cooler to you if you have a lowered truck too. Even the Ricers are cool to me now. I once saw a sign, it was in a tattoo place (where I got my tattoo ironically enough....catch shit for that too) and it said "The difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people: Tattooed people don't care if you're not tattooed". I think the same holds true for lowred or customized vehicles. I personally don't care about a stock ride, but if you have some major custom mods, I'm gonna' ask you about it. I'm straying !
from the piont here....
Anyway, the Hotchkis kit is world-class. They don't make one for my truck, but if they did I woulda' got it. As far as anything goes, I've never met anyone with a dearched spring, but I don't think I would like them.. that's just me tho =)
okay... that's enough rambling... =)

Good evening Ladies and Animals, I just wanted to totally agree with Steven,
and give my thoughts on Hotchkis and Gary... I had my Hotchkis suspension
installed about 7 months ago, I was either the 2nd or 3rd (dont remember
which one) R/T to have it done, but first from the dml/rtml to have it done
(on an r/t). I posted some pics a little while after I had it done to the
rtml and had about 70 emails within the first 24 hours, askin about it,
handling, performance, etc.. All were positive comments and questions. Im
not here to speak for anyone other than myself, but there are probably 30-50
guys (a lot of them never post so there may be many more =] ) on the r/t
list that have the kit now and all love it. Im not at all saying that it is
me that made their decision for them, the quality of the suspension itself
is all that they needed, but the pics and praise didnt hurt =]
On Gary himself, when he was finishing up the tuning of the rear Bilstein
shocks with his suspension, he needed a V8 club cab to test them out on, and
he happens to have had a friend that lives about 2 minutes from me (but
about an hour from him). So we set it all up, and on a Sunday he came to my
house, got the truck all jacked up and installed the "proto" rear bilsteins
and we then took about a 40 minute ride through bumpy roads, smooth roads,
very tight swervy roads, big speed bumps, small speed bumps, etc etc etc, he
was drivin and he tested about every road condition except snow and rain
(keep in mind we are in so cal), bottom line, this was all on a Sunday in
the middle of summer, in about 105 degree heat on his own time, not gettin
paid, but he wanted to make sure that his design and his final product were
the best in its class, and without a doubt they are. That to me is customer
service at its finest and then some, and on top of it, he is the coolest guy
you could ever meet.
Gary, Im gonna need an appointment about 2 weeks from tomorrow for
suspension #2, book me for a tuesday or thursday in the morning =]

Time for me to shut my trap and end this novel, but i've been meaning to
give Gary and Hotchkis a huge praise, because they truly deserve it...
