I corresponded with R&D, F&B and QUICK D before purchasing my TB, and
came to the conclusion that they are all very responsive and service
oriented.
As for the product, I could not compare them visually. Being from
Hawaii
(a.k.a. "Paradise"), I don't know of any others here with these great
products. BUT,
thanks to the DML, there was a lot of feedback on the different TB's.
It's a tough
choice... ended up buying the QUICK D, and I am very pleased with the
results.
The QUICK D TB looks very clean, butterflies close tight (there was a
comment that
another brand had a gap on one side of the butterfly), the truck
started-up and
idled at the 600rpm right away. On WOT, sounds like a hurricane
entering the engine...
you gotta know that a lot of air is getting in there. No noticeable
loss of power on
low end, definitely better after 3000 rpm.
I also checked out archives in the Durango Mailing List, there were a
lot of
pleased customers from QUICK D.
In principle, all of the modified TB's will result in increased air
volume - there is even
instructions on DML on how you could do it yourself...I chose not to do
this.
A friend once told me "...an engine is just a big compressor - the more
air in, the more air out..."
(well I know it's not "that" simple, but you get the point?...)
