Alternative to RAM AIR BOX by AIS

Has anyone seen this months issue of HOT ROD magazine, they have a good
article about building a fully functional ram air setup for about $70 ($50
of which I think is a K&N filter). Basically what it is is cutting &
riveting some home heating ductwork to a slightly oversized open aircleaner
lid & base (13" filter in a 14" base) & enclosing the assembly with 2 ducts
& some sheet metal. It may not look as pretty as the RAM AIR BOX by AIS but
it would do the same job.
