I recieved a pair of 1994 Chevy 2500 4x4 Tow Hooks in the mail today, they
look really really heavy duty. I still have not totally decided on if I want
to use these or a pair from a 1985 Chevy Blazer 4x4. I put a nice coat of
Liquid Electrical Tape on both, to act as a rust preventer. I did make it
into the steel supply warehouse today and managed to buy some 1/4" thick
steel plate with a 90 degree bend in it. I want to say the guy told me it
was called 'angle iron'. On one side of the bend the steel is 4" wide and 4"
on the other side. I bought a 10" long piece and had them cut it in half, so
I would have a bracket for each side of the front frame horn. Total,
including charging me $3 to cut the it, the price came out to a mere $9. I
am going to go the the local hardware store tomorrow and get some Grade 8
Bolts for the brackets/tow hooks. I will also decide tonight if I need to
splurge and spend $10 on a sharp 1/2" drill bit. I hope to have this
modification done by the end of next week. I also have to get some kerosene
for the torpedo heater to heat the garage up, as it is snowing and a cold
25degrees here with wind chill down to +4. Cant work on Project Tow Hook
Sunday as it is the last day of muzzleloader here in Indiana and I have one
more tag to fill. My original post can be find at:

if anyone wants more background info on this.
