The whole idea behind most of the aftermarket (and Mopar) computers is
advancing the timing slightly for more power. (This is not the only item
but is a "constant" with all of the chips/computers out there.)

Whether it's a Supercharger, Turbo, or Nitrous, you'll need some sort of
timing retard/control to keep your engine from pinging itself to death. On
small amounts of boost (or nitrous) this may not be required...but it is
still a good idea (as a safety factor).
