LS1 or LT1 it will still beat you. a blower or NOS will keep you beside him.
Those cars are pretty damn fast. i had a camaro with a 454 ( hey sometimes i
get bored) and i was beating ZR1s. i would do a supercharger and headers and
a free flow exaust and that should keep you up to if not a little in front.
RIve seen some new camaros in the 13s stock.
I was a big GM man ( still love GM) and thats about all the advice i can give
you. also stay away from the new Grand Prix GTP. they are SC and they do 0 to
60 in 6.5 sec and the qt mile in 14s at 90+ mph
