I went through this many times... the helicoil kit is metric, i forget the
exact size.. tried an oversized caliper pin, but just didn't look good
enough for me. For future reference, it is a HUGE timesaver to clean the
threads out with a tap, that brake dust/rust gets in there.. nasty nasty..

good luck with the helicoil, if you havn't checked already, get ready for a
sticker shock, i think the kit was ~40 bones
