I got the Eibach front springs and the Doetsche(sp?) Tech shocks from
sport truck direct. The springs were $99+shipping and I think the shocks
were around $35 each. I don't know where these other guys live or what
kind of roads they have, but here in Texas my truck bottomed way too
often for my taste (even with the excellent DT shocks that helped a
great deal) with the 2/4 setup and stock springs (in my opinion, the
stock coil springs are just too soft). I personally have a pretty fast
truck and I don't wan't to be slowing down to a crawl every time there
is a dip in the road or some railroad tracks etc... To each his own and
I can't speak for the 97+ Dak suspensions. All I can say if you have a
truck like mine (particularly a V8) with a 2/4 spindle/shackle kit and
stock springs it WILL bottom out. Regards and best of luck. If you do
decide to use shackles in the rear you'll need a grinder or a torch to
cut the heads off the factory rivets.
