Did anybody see the Feb 2000 Four Wheel and Off Road??
They gave the 4X4 of the year award to the Tundra. The
Dakota Quad cab came in a very close 2nd (1111 pts to 1082
pts) with the Ram coming in 3rd. It was the first time in
8 years it was given to a non-Chryler product.
The funny part of the article is that it sounds like it
came down to how comfortable the seats were??--Oh brother!!
They said the Dakota's seats were uncomfortable (I really
like mine personally) and that the Tundra had great seats.
Even though they show a male adult crammed in the rear seat
of the Tundra with his knees fully planted into the seat in
front of him. They loved all the room the Quad cab had.
The best part of the article was that even with Toyota's
stupid commercials saying that it's faster than any other
truck, the 4.7L equipped Dakota beat their 4.7L equipped
Tundra in the 1/4 mi--16.86 to 17.24. Too bad they didn't
use a 5.9L Dakota Quad Cab.
