Hey Mike,
I'm in Virginia, but it happens up here too. The unfortunate thing about it
is you don't know what to expect going into a strange shop until your there.
I try to stick with shops I am familiar with.

Just had my annual inspection done on my 98 QC ram. I took it to a shop
close to my work NOT my reg. place. They gave me a hard time about my KN air
filter and assembly, SAID that under NC law that it was considered tampering
with the intake system. That since the factory box had the restrictive fresh
air intake hose I needed to keep that and coyuld not use the open air style.
Anyone else had this problem?

Also check this the idiots thought i had tampered with the egr cause the
hose runs from the evap cannister to the front about 6 feet and had a cap on
it. (its not a cap its a vent) they had to take a flashlight and look up
into cause they thought it was a cap.
