The mini-console that I am installing does not include the computer module.
I do not know the price or part number for it.

I have the console and it does not have the computer (but a stupid clip
where the computer module suppose to go) module. How much and the part

Todd,

The mini-overhead console that I am installing is the one from the Y2K
models. I believe it is slightly different than the pre-Y2K model only in
the bezel for the computer module. I may be wrong. This mini unit only has
the sunglass holder, garage door opener, and two lights. The mini unit DOES
NOT include the computer module. However, the computer module can be added
as the opening for it on the mini unit is covered with a bezel clip for
holding parking stubs, etc.. The REGULAR overhead console will include
everything from the mini unit plus the computer. To add the computer module
to the mini unit will greatly increase the cost and will be alot more work
if you plan on doing this yourself as you will need to purchase the computer
module and additional wiring harnesses. I have not installed mine yet.
Below are the part numbers and the price I paid for them:

TE31TL2-AA CONSOLE HOUSING $23.50
SE06TL2-AA BEZEL CLIP 3.50
SE04TL2-AA GARAGE DOOR HOLDER 11.75
SE03TL2-AA SUNGLASS HOLDER 11.75
55350828-AA MOUNTING BRACKET 17.25
5003658-AB LIGHT LENS 3.85
5003659-AB LIGHT LENS 3.85
5012526-AA OVERHEAD LIGHTING WIRE HARNESS 18.76
6032723 SCREWS, 4PC @ $1.50/PC 6.00
L0000578 LIGHT BULBS, 2PC @ .90/PC 1.80
                                                     ------
                                                    $102.00

Ken,
That would be great if I could get the part numbers. Does the console look
the same as the earlier models? Does it have the garage opener and sunglass
holder with the two lights? Does it still give you the compass and/ or what
else? When I went to the dealer they said it would cost around $250 just
for the parts, and then I went to another dealer and he said it would cost
around $800 to get the console, computer, and install. Maybe they are
pulling my leg.
Thanks for the info.

Todd,

I am doing the same thing to my 98. I will be installing the mini-overhead
console from the Y2K model. This is the one without the computer module. I
have already picked up the parts that I will be needing from my local Dodge
dealer. I just haven't had the time to install it. All the parts came to
around $108. This price covers everything except the computer and its
associated wiring harness. If you need the parts number let me know and I
will post them.

All,
I am interested in putting in an overhead console on my 98 Dakota. I got it
with everything but that. Does anyone know if I can just purchase the
console (and parts) and put it in. I have a fuse already existing for the
O/H console, but not sure if the wiring is there or if I need an additional
computer or something.

Thanks,
Todd
