Nope. The computer will reset the timing to the original settings. Already
spoke with MSD on that. On short, random bursts, the timing can be
retarded...but on a regular basis, the computer will compensate.

I still can't decide whether mine is a ping or the injectors, but the truck
flies and the duals drown out the clicks from under the hood anyways. I
thought pinging was due to the timing being too advanced in the V8
computers?
Isn't there supposed to be a "factory burn-in" that's coming for the 99s?

would retarding the timing affect my MSD? BTW, it's had ONLY Amoco 93
Ultimate since mile 1, so it ain't the gas! Would an MSD timing retarder
work
without nitrous, and what does it do to the truck's computer timing? I'm
trying to fix this without the dealer's help.
