If it's an automatic...there is none. A buddy and I spent about 30 minutes
trying to find it on his after the 4.10:1 gear conversion (and it's a
hell-uv-a-lot quicker now to boot) and found out that they don't use them
anymore. His speedo is dead-nuts accurate. Don't know how to explain
that....well....F.M. ;)

Subject: DML: Introduction and speedometer gear questions

I have a 98 Extended Cab 2wd. I've spent the last few months trying to make
my truck look and perform better. So far I've put a Perfomance Accessories
3 inch lift on, upgraded to 31 inch tires from the stock P215s, and replaced
the stock air box with a K&N 3.5 inch canister air filter. Today I received
a 3.92 ring and pinion, as well as a Trac Loc, which will be installed on
Tuesday to replace the 3.21 open differential.

I also bought a replacement 35 tooth speed sensor gear to recalibrate my
speedometer for the 3.92 with 31 inch tires. However, I can't figure out
where the sensor is. I've found what I assume to be the ABS sensor on the
top of the differential, but is that also the one that is used for the
speedo? If so, what do I need to do to replace the gear? Thanks in advance
for your help.
