It seems to me like the big game on these "supermussle" cars is BIG $$$$. Well take for instance the viper/vette they go for around 70k/50k. With about 20k-50k or so you can have a great fast car. What the hell is that crap. I just spent $70,000, it should already be that fast. They are both wonderful cars and I think they both look great. But there is no way I would tear apart my 70k/50k car and void any warranty to make it a little faster, maybe in 5 years. And we can all argue, for instance this Vette cost the guy 65k and beat the Viper, ok modified but the same price. I AM NOT COMPARING THE 2, JUST PROVING A $$$$ POINT. and Yes you can take a Ford Festiva and stick 20K into it and make it fast. I know the story. But I am a little pissed at both Chevy and Dodge for not putting out a great AMERICAN car that is "no holds barred".

Check out the 12/99 issue of Mopar Action for the full scoop. Its
intercooled and uses 2 Garrett T4 turbos running at 15psi. (CR is 8.5:1)
It gets a new crank, rods, pistons, and the heads are ported to be able to
use bigger valves. (2.02" intake, 1.6" exhaust) The intake is
extrudehoned, and of course its got a custom exhaust, headers, etc. It
uses a custom computer that you can program via a laptop. Injectors are
rated at 50lb each. The half shafts were replaced with CV joints and
a Dana 60. It still uses the T-56 tranny which has been beefed up a bit.

They didn't give any exact times, but its supposed to run 9's in the
quarter. (This is with 3.07 gears and a suspension set up for road
racing.) Supposedly, this much power is about all the stock chassis
can handle; if you want to go faster, a tube frame with the same
drivetrain is good for 7's.

The Mopar Action article says it has 1100hp, but according to SVS's
web site, its 993 bhp and 1142 lb-ft. The nice thing is that its
totally streetable.

All this for only $120,000, installed. :-) If you'd like to place
an order, their web site is at http://supervipersystems.com/
