I am in need of some info. I just looked at a used 98 Dakota RT today that was a Warranty Buyback
due to a incorrect towing capacity rating. I know the normal model V8 Dakotas are rated to tow
around 6K pounds but why is the RT only at 2K. Is this the true capacity or is it only due to the
wheels and tires and possibly the lowered suspension or what. Also the truck that I looked at had
the rear tailshaft and seals and driveshaft replaced as part of the warranty buy back, stating
that this was due to the incorrect towing capacities.. what should I make of this.. as I will be
using the truck to trailer my Neon ACR at a total of around 4K lbs including the trailer.
