If it's a 5spd, all you have to do is change the speedo-gear. The dealer is
just protecting their butts on that one. I have a '97 SLT that's running
32" BFG's and 4.10:1 gears. Speedo is accurate.

Subject: DML: Upgrading to a larger tire

I own a 1997 Dakota Sport 4x2 with P215/75R15 tires. I would like to a
P235/75R15 tire but was told by my Dodge dealer not to do it because it
would affect the computer in the vehicle and the ABS brakes and overall
performance of the truck. If anyone has upgraded their tires to a larger
size
and experienced any problems with the above let me know. Thank you.
