The best way to tell is to jack up the rear end (both wheels). Turn one
wheel with your hand, if the other one turns with it the same direction
then you have a SureGrip. If it turns the opposite direction then it's an
open diff. (Also, my axle has a big sticker right on it that says
chrysler blah blah blah Sure Grip Axle, I'm sure that yours, if it had it,
has probably worn off by now. Mines about half gone already as it is!)

Sound like yours is a little screwy though. My SG burns both tires all
the time, wether on dry or icy surfaces, from a dead stop, or from a
rolling start. Hmmmm. If you do indeed find that you have a SG I'd take
her in and get her looked at.
