I would think tire sizes would affect the ABS system on some vehicles. A
bigger tire turns slower at the center than a smaller tire at the same road
speed. If the ABS computer thinks you have a 27 inch tire, when it really
is a 30 inch tire, it would think your going slower than you actually
are. Anyone follow? Now if the ABS system is a blind system, as in only
detects tire rotation at the wheel itself (like the older ABS systems do)
then it wouldn't affect it. But if it goes by vehicle MPH, then there is a
problem. The GenIII Daks don't use speedo gears in the tranny, it has an
electronic sensor that feeds info to the onboard computer, which then gets
sent to the speedometer. That is why you have to go to the dealer to get
your speedo corrected when different size tires are put on. Now if the ABS
is connected to the computer and gets feed speed info that way, then yes it
would be affected by tire size changes.
