I don't think you understand. Let's say it *was* on a slight incline. Why
would the truck STOP when I let off the gas while I was in neutral? Somehow,
I think reverse gear is being applied. I remember when I had a manual in my
Camaro, if the trans was in neutral and the engine was running while the rear
was jacked up, the tires would turn. You could stop them with your hands, and
I attributed this to the viscosity of the fluid in the transmission. However
in this case, the truck is rolling backward, and I don't think it applies
anyway with a torque converter and the auto trans.

I'm not trying to argue with anyone, I just want to find out what, if
anything, is wrong with my Dakota. Just for kicks, I'm going to turn the
truck around in that same spot and see if I can duplicate the problem. That
will eliminate any incline from the equation. If it still does it, I'll post
it.
