Is your transfer case the same as the SelectTrac that comes with Jeeps?

Subject: Re: DML: 4 Wheel Questions
I have a vague idea on #1, but I'll leave it for someone more
knowledgable to answer.
#2, it should go right in. I usually feel the fronts start grabbing the
road when I pull the lever. And it should pop right out, or at least
within a few seconds. According to the manual (which I was reading this
morning while sitting in traffic), if you let off the gas as you're
popping out of 4WD it'll go quicker and easier. It is NOT normal for it
to take a mile to disengage, or at least it doesn't seem right.
Note that you can't *really* shift on the fly to 4Lo. I found out today
the best way to do it is to come to a complete stop, shift to neutral,
then move from 4H to 4L in one smooth, firm motion. Don't stop in the
middle.
