My point is that if the plates from the factory had been made of heavy-duty
metal instead of heavy-duty plastic, there might be some scratches present
but no gouges like what are now on my crappy plastic skid plates.
And yes the plates are there to "absorb" the rocks, bumps, stumps etc. so
that the udercarriage of the truck is spared. But how are the plates gonna
protect anything if they are falling apart??

P.S. And who are you to be commenting on such serious topics as
off-roading, when your skid plates are, from your own admission, still nice
and shiny???? hehehehehe :)
