The fact that they are cast in aluminum means performance to begin with.
They probably have better port flow. Yes, they are lighter. Steel inserts
are installed for the valve seats. Lower combustion chamber temps, can run
higher compression ratio. All this leads to more power. Plus if you want to
get them ported, its a little cheaper, cause it doesnt take as long to port
aluminum haeads as it does steel.
