I looked at Carpoint, and it was pretty dare close to
what I was getting for my truck.

I knew a fleet sales mgr. pretty good, and he layed
out the cost prices on every option, etc... I was
going to order a new RT, and they have a flat fee of
$500 over the cost (invoice) on the truck. YES,
there's a 3% hold back that DC pays to the dealerships
at the end of the month, so if a dealership is selling
a ton of vehicles, and it's near the end of the month,
you might be able to get something UNDER invoice, as
they really don't care-- they are getting payed either
way. The plus side, you will probably recommend them
to a friend/co-worker/etc. and they'll have a good
following month based on the recommendations, etc.
etc.

After I was ready to order, I found a dealership that
had the exact (99.5% exact) vehicle I wanted. Told
them I'd pay $500 over invoice (knowing what invoice
was based on the truck I was about to order), and they
agreed. Since then I've had numerous calls/mailers
from them to make sure that I am satisfied with the
truck, etc etc. My local dealership never did that
for me. Guess it pays to drive around.
